The program, which includes workshops, dispatches to NGOs and round tables, will run over a period of one month. The NGO Fellowship Program is a one-month-long opportunity for NGO professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia (including Japan, South Korea, and Mongolia) to gain first-hand experience in the Taiwanese NGO sector. The Program includes workshops, a three-week NGO placement, and roundtable events with the fellows\u2019 Taiwanese counterparts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Program Features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NGO Placement: The fellows will be placed in Taiwan\u2019s NGO according to their professional backgrounds. The host NGOs will welcome the fellows for three weeks, where they will be able to engage in daily operations to get to know Taiwanese NGOs. Depending on the nature of the NGOs, fellows will engage in diverse activities, such as event preparation, project management, or fundraising activities.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop: The fellows will attend a four-day workshop at the start of the program. The workshop aims to deepen the fellows\u2019 knowledge of NGOs<\/p>\n<p>Roundtable event: The fellows will join a roundtable event during the program. The fellows and the Taiwanese NGO professionals will have the opportunity to share their practical experiences and observations in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Future project collaboration: Fellows will be expected to propose a project draft at the end of the program for future cooperation in their home countries. The program will give fellows and host NGOs opportunities to explore future cooperation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fellowship Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fellowship will take place from the 29th of September to the 27th of October 2024.<br \/>\n\u2013 Sept. 29: Taipei arrival<br \/>\n\u2013 Sept. 30 \u2013 Oct 3: Workshop and site visits<br \/>\n\u2013 Oct. 4: Roundtable<br \/>\n\u2013 Oct. 5 \u2013 24: Field placement<br \/>\n\u2013 Oct. 25: Wrap-up<br \/>\n\u2013 Oct. 26: Pride Parade in Taipei<br \/>\n\u2013 Oct. 27: Taipei departure<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is it for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Number of selected Fellows: 15<\/p>\n<p>Age: NGO professionals from 25 to 40 years old.<\/p>\n<p>Professions: Community development, environment, education, gender, human rights, media and information technology, LGBTQ+, medical service, and social welfare. Outstanding applicants from other NGO fields will also be considered.<br \/>\nExperience: At least three years of work experience in the NGO sector. Demonstrated professional excellence, independent and self-motivated, able to complete an independent fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>Nationalities:<br \/>\n\u2013 Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.<br \/>\n\u2013 South Asia: Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.<br \/>\n\u2013 Northeast Asia: Japan, South Korea, Mongolia.<br \/>\nf. Language: Proficiency in written and oral English, and fluent in Mandarin is a plus.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsorship<br \/>\nFellows\u2019 expenses of flight, lodging (shared room), food, and transportation will be covered. A personal statement (a one-page statement that explains the purpose of applying for the Fellowship, expectations, and a personal career plan)<br \/>\nd. 2 recommendations letters<\/p>\n<p>We suggest that the recommendation letters can be provided by individuals familiar with your performance within your organization. Therefore, at least one recommendation letter should be issued by your supervisor or colleague. To gain insight into who you are as a candidate, we encourage your references to focus on describing your personality, creativity, leadership, and other relevant qualities. We do not have a preferred format for recommendation letters.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that your application will be considered complete only after you successfully submit all required documents before the deadline.
