International Coordinator, Peace Boat
Biography
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Ms. Joyce has worked as International Coordinator for the NGO Peace Boat since 2005, and has been involved in various projects on disarmament, nuclear abolition, peace education, etc. As Northeast Asia Regional Liaison Officer of the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), she coordinates dialogue and peacebuilding activities at the civil society level. She sits on the Steering Committee of the Northeast Asia Peacebuilding Institute (NARPI), and is an Advisory Member of Women Cross DMZ and board member of Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV). She also works as a freelance Japanese-English interpreter for the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan and other organizations. In September 2020, she was appointed as a "Goodwill Ambassador for Peace on the Korean Peninsula" by the Republic of Korea Minister for Unification.
